Job Description

Jonkman Construction is seeking a responsible Office Assistant.

This position is an office support position that will require good communication skills, as you will be collaborating internally and externally with professionals in the construction industry and will be a front-line person for Jonkman Construction Company.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assist with all incoming and outgoing visitors and goods to the office
  • Monitor and manage incoming and outgoing phone calls and social media inquiries
  • Manage purchasing accounts for the company.
  • Assist the Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Administrators with everyday tasks
  • Office management, maintaining facility wellness and hospitality
  • Assist with event set-ups, company promotions, apparel, and marketing
  • Growth: once this position is mastered and based on this position’s work drive, it is intended that this position could develop into Marketing and handling all Media and Company betterment.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in this role
  • Forty (40) hours per week position, in office (this is not a work from home optional position)
  • An ability to prepare and interpret technical information of the construction industry
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

Project Administrator / Office Manager

Job Description

Jonkman Construction is seeking a responsible Commercial Construction Project Administrator/Office Manager.

This position includes the organization, collaboration, and leadership to support the Project Managers, Superintendents, and Accounting A/P for the successful operation of the company. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you will be collaborating internally and externally with professionals in the construction industry and will be the front line of Jonkman Construction Company.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment, and information
  • Create subcontractor contracts (exhibit A’s), submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and subcontractor contact list, per job, to distribute to PMs, architects, superintendents, and sub-contractors.
  • Create and monitor submittal log to ensure all documentation has been received and approved.
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants including subcontractors, Superintendents, and PMs
  • Ensure all appropriate documentation is obtained such as, Master Sub Agreements, certificates of insurance, exhibit A’s, etc.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, reports, and Owner Manual once job is complete to provide to the client
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met by conducting quality assurance tests
  • Filing of all documentation by job and subcontractor for easy retrieval
  • Answer phones and be the first point of contact for visitors to the office and various other duties as needed.
  • You will assist the Controller in the creation of lien waivers, getting the checks prepared and mailed out.
  • General Office Manager: take charge of multiple tasks throughout the office inclusive of break room management, assisting with facilities, and assisting with IT and equipment. Work with the Ops team for onboarding new employees and ordering resources for staff.
  • Growth: once Project Administration is mastered, it is intended that this position could develop into Marketing and handling all Media and Company betterment.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Commercial Project Administrative Assistant or similar role
  • An ability to prepare and interpret submittals, RFI’s, and Contract Exhibits
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools preferred but not required (e.g., Computer Ease)
  • Three (3) years minimum experience in the Commercial Construction field
